TREC-STEP’s Green Climate Fund (GCF) Programme, BEACON India on Climate Innovation Incubation approved recently @ GCF, South Korea

TREC-STEP is glad to share the wonderful news that our programme, BEACON India, (Building Ecosystem for Accelerating Contribution to NDC through Climate Innovation Incubation for India), has been approved by the Green Climate Fund (GCF) Board on 29th October 2025, at the GCF Headquarters at Incheon City, Republic of Korea. The project has been approved for a GCF support of USD 25 million, with a total project outlay of USD 94 million. TREC-STEP and TATA Capital will be partnering in this pioneering initiative, with SIDBI serving as the accredited entity to GCF.

The programme has been widely appreciated as a first-of-its-kind initiative, focusing on developing an innovation and incubation ecosystem for nurturing high-impact climate ventures and is expected to serve as a model for replication, globally. The BEACON India Programme will be launched early next year.
