TREC-STEP received ‘the Best Performing STEP Award 2001’ from Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. TREC-STEP is one of the first STEP experiments in Indian for promoting technocrats as entrepreneurs. TREC-STEP with its first 10 years of existence promoted nearly 160 start-up ventures of first generation entrepreneurs. TREC-STEP has served as model for other institutions in the country and consistently worked with Department of Science and Technology until now for promoting new incubators and provided all support for establishment of new knowledge based science and technology start-up ventures in the country.

Jawahar, Executive Director, TREC-STEP are receiving the “Best STEP Award “ for the year 2001 from the Deputy Chairman of Planning Commission Mr. K.C. Pant on 11th May, 2002 during the Technology Day Celebration held at New Delhi. Hon’ble Thiru B.S. Rawat, Minister of State for S&T, Govt. of India, Mr. Ramamoorthy, Secretary, DST and Mr. R.S. Mashelkar, Secretary, DSIR are also seen.
